further informationDiploma in Art & Design, London College of Communication 1972.
I began my career as a graphic designer with a leading London design partnership specialising in packaging.
I discovered clay fifteen years ago, when I moved to Rutland and joined an evening class. Here was a tremendously exciting 3D design material that I couldn't wait to get my hands on!
Through clay I have continued to explore nuances of shape and form, of surface, colour, design and texture - just some of the infinite possibilities that this fascinating and outstandingly versatile material affords.
I enjoy the disciplines and challenges of making both functional ware and decorative sculptural pieces, and aim to combine a knowledge and awareness of our wonderfully rich ceramic heritage with a contemporary awareness and sense of fun.
Examples of my work are currently available at:
- Saltbox Gallery, Helmsley, Yorkshire
- Lion HOuse Gallery, Lavenham, Suffolk
- Imagine Gallery, Long Melford, Suffolk
